I Can't Believe You Asked That!

If you’ve been anywhere on campus you’ve seen fliers emblazoned whit phrases like, “Do Catholics Believe in Oral Sex?” or “Why Do White People Smell Like Wet Dogs?”. The fliers are in promotion of a diversity event coming to ASU-J on Thursday October 6th at 7pm in Centennial Hall. The event will feature internationally renowned diversity speaker and advocate Phillip Milano for one night only in a “no holds barred” conversation about everything from race to sexual orientation.

But, why ask these questions? Through this humorous and unorthodox approach to diversity training, Milano hopes to, “teaches people how to engage in honest and enlightening dialogues about cultural differences.” At the end of the day, “the inspiring result [of Milano’s work] is a more positive, authentic and productive environment for people to work, live, and learn.”
How do you get involved in the movement? Milano created www.yforum.com a website that allows readers to ask and answer questions about their differences and more importantly their similarities. Readers are urged to ask and answer questions anonymously in an attempt to grow as a community.
